Welcome to Al Qalam in the heart of historic Cairo

 • Al Qalam is a creative space in a unique historic setting that pulses with beauty and encourages creativity. It is a gallery, a learning space, a design studio, and a store for Arabic calligraphy supplies and artistic gifts, as well as a meeting point for creatives and artists.

 • Al Qalam is on the first floor above the ground floor of an architecturally distinguished 18th-century building, classified Grade C by the National Organization for Urban Harmony, directly overlooking the Sultan Hassan and Al-Rifa'i mosques and behind the Egyptian Architect's House (Hassan Fathy House), at 10 Darb al-Labbana Alley, a few steps from Citadel (Salah El-Din) Square.

 • The space consists of a spacious hall branching into 3 separate areas: a study / meeting room / library, a seminar and lecture hall / product display room, and a work area, plus a wide balcony, a kitchen and a bathroom. We also offer access to the roof terrace, with its distinctive view over historic Cairo, in the shade of the sun or the warmth of winter.
