Welcome to Al Qalam in the heart of historic Cairo
- Al Qalam is a creative space in a unique historic setting that pulses with beauty and encourages creativity. It is a gallery, a learning space, a design studio, and a store for Arabic calligraphy supplies and artistic gifts, as well as a meeting point for creatives and artists.
- Al Qalam is on the first floor above the ground floor of an architecturally distinguished 18th-century building, classified Grade C by the National Organization for Urban Harmony, directly overlooking the Sultan Hassan and Al-Rifa'i mosques and behind the Egyptian Architect's House (Hassan Fathy House), at 10 Darb al-Labbana Alley, a few steps from Citadel (Salah El-Din) Square.
- The space consists of a spacious hall branching into 3 separate areas: a study / meeting room / library, a seminar and lecture hall / product display room, and a work area, plus a wide balcony, a kitchen and a bathroom. We also offer access to the roof terrace, with its distinctive view over historic Cairo, in the shade of the sun or the warmth of winter.
Meeting / Training room
Up to 10 people. Suitable for meetings, training, interviews, and coaching and mentoring sessions.
You will find everything you need: a projector, whiteboards, fans, a balcony with a unique view, high-speed internet, power outlets and a loudspeaker.
Price: 1-19 hours = 100 EGP / hour; 20+ hours = 80 EGP / hour. (Snacks, drinks, scanning / printing options and flipchart paper) are not included in the price.
Co-working space
You will find everything you need: a unique view, high-speed internet, a prayer area, storage, fans, etc.
Monthly packages: half monthly membership = 400 EGP
Full monthly membership = 700 EGP
Dedicated desk = 900 EGP
(Snacks, drinks, scanning / printing options and flipchart paper) are not included in the price.
10 AM – 4 PM, every day except Friday and Saturday.
Events and gatherings

You will find everything you need: a projector, fans, a balcony with a unique view, high-speed internet, a headset microphone, a loudspeaker … etc.
Price per hour: 150 EGP (10-35 people)

How to get to Al Qalam
Public transport: 92 public buses have routes that include Sayyida Aisha / Ahmed Maher, and most pass alongside the building or near the Sultan Hassan Mosque. You can also take Sayyida Aisha microbuses from the metro stations (Al-Shohadaa, Saad Zaghloul, Al-Malek Al-Saleh, Sayyida Zeinab) (average 18 minutes).
