The startWe tell you the story of Arabic calligraphy and take you around the Al Qalam store to meet your tools one by one.

With every sessionYou master new letters and write a full word with them before you leave.

The final exerciseYou design your layout and write a phrase of your choice; your first piece to take home.

Closing the workshopWe sit with you to explain the calligraphy paths for those who want to continue, so you never leave unsure of your next step.

Each session has four parts, so no letter passes without you understanding and trying it.

- Free writingWith the teacher's correction
After the session: Your teacher sets homework to practice the letters, then follows up and corrects it with you on WhatsApp.

I've never held a calligraphy pen. Is the workshop right for me?
Yes; these workshops were designed for you. We start with how to hold the pen, and never move to a letter until you're confident with the one before.
What about tools?
The calligraphy tool kit is 210 EGP, and the everyday handwriting workbook is 150 EGP. Materials for the final exercise are not included. You'll find all the tools in the Al Qalam Store.
I missed a session. What do I do?
